With a new era opening for theJurassicfranchise, now is the ideal time to revisit theJurassic Parkuniverse dinosaurs we’d love to see appear, or return, inJurassic World Rebirth. The upcomingJurassic Worldmoviemight be the most exciting in years, particularly coming afterJurassic World Dominionand how disappointing it was for many. The film is set to be a new beginning for the franchise, with a newcast inJurassic World Rebirthalready setting it up to be one of the biggest chapters to date.
As the characters revisit the research facility, familiar dinosaurs are likely to reappear, butwe can also expect a host of new or long-absent species to join the saga. Set five years ahead ofDominion,Jurassic World Rebirth’s storywill center on an excursion to find the few surviving dinosaurs. With that in mind, several species from the game franchises and animated series would be enjoyable additions to the next movie, some of which are a surprisingly perfect fit forJurassic World Rebirth.
Camp Cretaceous

The Scorpius Rex is one of the more plausible dinosaurs to return inRebirth. While it’s not new ground,Camp Cretaceousintroduced some cool dinosaursthat were genetically bred by InGen, with the Scorpius Rex acting as a hybrid of such species. The dinosaur was frozen and held captive on Isla Nublar until it later escaped. The Scorpius Rex can see infrared light rays and has few survival instincts, favoring hunting for sport instead. With genes from Tyrannosaurus, Velociraptor, and Carnotaurus,the Scorpius Rex is one of the scariest dinosaurs in the Jurassic universe, making it ideal forRebirth.
The dinosaur doesn’t appear inCamp Cretaceousuntil the third season, but it serves as the unseen antagonist for the first two series.The Scorpius Rex shares some similarities with the Indominus Rex, although it is believed to be one of the less intelligent hybrids that was modified by Dr. Henry Wu.
9Nothosaurus
Stemming from the Triassic Period, the Nothosaurus first appears inCamp Cretaceousseason 5, episode 4, “Evasive Action.“While the species is a marine reptile, the Nothosaurus has been seen to hunt on land before it hauls its prey underwater to kill. The Nothosaurus’s razor-sharp teeth and long jaw make it one of the more physically frightening species. It was kept at Mantah Corp Island in the animated series, but consideringJurassic World Rebirthwill explore some of the water-dwelling dinosaurs around Jurassic Park’s research facility, it would certainly be interesting to see them resurface in the reboot.
This is the only known individual Nothosaurus in the series, making the prospect of its return all the more exciting.

8Troodon
Jurassic Park: The Game
Exclusive to theJurassic Park: The Gameadventure-based series, the Troodon has a venomous bite that staves off any potential predators, making them an incredibly dangerous species. Unlike many of the opposing species, the dinosaur was created using 100% extracted DNA. With this in mind,the Troodon is just as intelligent as the Velociraptor,though the species ultimately has a very different hunting style from its highly intelligent counterparts. The telltale games make it clear that “you don’t want to be left alive by this dinosaur,” making it an appealing species to appear inJurassic World Rebirth.
Interestingly, in the trailer forJurassic Park: The Game, the Troodon first appears to have glowing yellow eyes, which later change to glowing white during gameplay. That being said,the Troodon is arguably one of the more intriguing speciesthanks to its intelligence. More of this clever, strategic hunting behavior inJurassic World Rebirth, mirroring the original Velociraptor pursuit of Tim and Lex, would be welcome.
7Elasmosaurus
Jurassic Park 2: The Chaos Continues
The Elasmosaurus is among the most terrifying dinosaurs inJurassic World,firstappearing in the video game for Game Boy,Jurassic Park 2: The Chaos Continues. With its horrifying saw-toothed jaws and long neck, the Elasmosaurus comes in at 11–14 meters and weighs nine tons, making it the largest species of plesiosaurs from the late Cretaceous period.It’s the ideal water-based beast for the upcoming movie as it would significantly raise the stakesfor the new characters inJurassic World Rebirth.
To ensure players have a wide variety of aquatic creatures to populate their parks with, the most recent appearance of this species is inJurassic World Evolution 2. As it stands,the Elasmosaurus has not appeared in any of the Jurassic films or novels, so it would be incredibly rewarding for avid followers of the Jurassic Universe.
6Oviraptor
Jurassic World Dominion (Extended Edition)
No species is quite as fascinating as the Oviraptor, and the species doubtlessly earns the title of the strangestraptor in the Jurassic movie universe. That being said,the dinosaur was absent from the theatrical release ofJurassic World Dominion, only available to audiences through the extended cut. The Oviraptor is not depicted as particularly dangerous, as the rather meek herbivore, Lystrosaurus, defeated it in one comedically swift motion, leaving it headless.
Featuring the dinosaur again in a similar capacity would be a delightful comedic callback and offer a moment of levity inJurassic World Rebirth.
Given that Oviraptor means “egg thief,” the live egg DNA extraction, as shown in the trailers forJurassic World Rebirth,presents an ideal opportunity to bring them back into the franchise. Besides this,I think the Oviraptor truly has the most curious design of all,with a beak and set of teeth in its mouth, making it a bizarre choice, but one leaving you eager to see more, nonetheless.
5Stegosaurus

First introduced inThe Lost World: Jurassic Park, the Stegosaurus has appeared in every sequel release through toJurassic World Dominion.The Stegosaurus is one of the fan favorites, and has been a staple of the fiveJurassic Park and Worldmovies. This species has the most iconic dinosaur appearance, with large plates along its back that make it immediately recognizable. Surprisingly, the Stegosaurus was absent fromJurassic Parkin 1993, but the species has made repeat appearances in the five succeeding movies, although the most recentJurassic Worldinstallment only saw the Stegosaurus sitting in cages.
Therefore, it would be fun to see the species have a more prominent role inJurassic World Rebirth.
It’s rare for a Stegosaurus to be heavily featured in theJurassicmovies, or even in the focus of a shot, which is unusual given that they are one of the most well-known dinosaur species. Therefore, it would be fun to see the species have a more prominent role inJurassic World Rebirth.
4Therizinosaurus
Jurassic World Dominion
WithJurassic World Rebirthreportedly leaning ever so slightly towards more graphic, nightmarish themes,the Therizinosaurus is the ideal dinosaur to incorporate into the new film. The ghoulish species was last spotted inJurassic World Dominionas it began to hunt Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) after she was unfortunate enough to cross paths with the menacing creature. Beyond doubt, the Therizinosaurus has the most unsettling appearance of any dinosaur in the Jurassic franchise. Identified by its eerily long claws, the Therizinosaurus forms a profoundly haunting figure and silhouette that intensifies any nerve-wracking scene.
Despite this,Jurassic World Dominionfamously got the Therizinosaurus wrong, and the way it hunted Claire has been conclusively debunked as the species was, in fact, a herbivore.The Therizinosaurus' erratic behavior was attributed to its partial blindness, but nevertheless, theJurassic Worldversion of the Therizinosaurus should absolutely remain terrifying, and I hopeJurassic World Rebirthfeatures it more.
3Indoraptor
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
The Indoraptor is the main antagonist ofJurassic World: Fallen Kingdomand is revealed in the movie as a hybrid of Indominus rex and Velociraptor DNA. Thanks to this, it’s one ofthe most powerful dinosaurs in theJurassic Worldseries, and is a terrifying product of humanity’s experiments with nature.The Indoraptor is kept hidden within Benjamin Lockwood’s estate, although it soon escapes and finds itself in a battle against Owen’s renowned velociraptor, Blue.Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdomis not the only appearance of the species, as the beast was later added toJurassic World Evolution 2.
Engineered as a killer, the Indoraptor’s existence makes it incredibly dangerous. The species has established a severe threat to not only other dinosaurs, but to the humans inJurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, soit would be interesting to see more of the Indoraptor’s capacities in a future installment,such asJurassic World Rebirth.
2Baryonyx
Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom & Jurassic World Dominion
Utilized as a scare tactic inJurassic World: Fallen KingdomandJurassic World Dominion, the Baryonyx is a genus of Spinosaur, although its appearance is far more reminiscent of an alligator or crocodile with a narrow snout. Still, the Baryonyx is very agile and five were originally created on Site B, Isla Sorna. The Baryonyx depicted in theJurassic Worldmovies appears to be of the same kind. However,two types of dinosaurs appear inJurassic World: Chaos Theory.
While being illegally transported, the dinosaur is shown briefly at the end of season 1 and the beginning of season 2’s opening episode. WithJurassic World Rebirthlikely employing more horror elements than the previous films,it would be great to see the Baryonyx return and present a greater danger to the crewthat are breaching the research island.
1Pachycephalosaurus
The Lost World: Jurassic Park & Jurassic World
Acting as the cutest dinosaur in the series, the Pachycephalosaurus was first introduced inThe Lost World: Jurassic Park, only to later return toJurassic World.Among an array of other species,the Pachycephalosaurus managed to escape when Owen and Claire freed them from camp. Some believe the species returned toJurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and while the species can be heard, this was likely to be their like-alike — the Stygimoloch. The Pachycephalosaurus is one of the most distinguishable dinosaurs in the franchise because of its dome-shaped skull, which makes it rather intimidating in a fight with itsassailants.
These small but mighty creatures are incredibly brave and have become one of the many beloved dinosaurs thatdo not feature in theJurassic Parkseriesenough. For that reason, the Pachycephalosaurus would be a welcome addition toJurassic World Rebirth.
