When theTwilightsaga started in 2008, it spawned a vampire frenzy among teen audiences, creating a $3 billion franchise. With theTwilightmovies recently trending on Netflix, many fans are revisiting the franchise to relive Bella and Edward’s story again, relishing in the nostalgia of it all. However, eagle-eyed viewers will notice that the vampire films aren’t as perfect as they may remember.

TheTwilightmovies have become a cultural phenomenon, somehow holding up and remaining popular nearly two decades on. Therefore, it’s easy to say that theTwilightmovies have aged quite well, regardless of critical response. That being said, from film crews being visible to changing outfits, there are quite a few goofs, continuity errors, and editing mistakes throughout theTwilightfranchise.

10The Self-Driving Truck

Twilight (2008)

Perhapsone of the more obvious errors in the franchise happens quite early on, just minutes into the firstTwilightmovie, when Charlie drives Bella through Forks. Having moved away from Phoenix while her mom and step-dad “go on the road,” Bella introduces the audience to Charlie and the city of Forks. As they wait at an intersection, a large blue truck carrying logs drives slowly past.

However, what is extremely strange about this shot is that the truck doesn’t appear to have a driver, and the cab looks completely empty. Considering the truck is the focus of the scene, some fans have caught onto the lack of a driver, especially as the angle allows us to see very clearly inside the window. Yet, 17 years on, the self-driving truck and its missing driver still remain a mystery.

9Tyler’s Disappearing Vest

When Bella first arrives at the highschool, she pulls up in an old red truck - something which stands out among the other more modern cars in the lot. As a result, a student (Tyler) comments, “Nice ride.” The sarcastic remark highlights how much of an outcast Bella is among her peers in theTwilightmovies. Yet, if you watch carefully, you will notice something strange about Tyler’s outfit.

In the wide shot, showing Bella’s truck and the surrounding students, Tyler can be seen wearing a red hoodie. However, in the closeup of him commenting “Nice ride,” he is clearly wearing a grey vest over the top

In the wide shot of Bella’s truck and surrounding students, Tyler is wearing a red hoodie. However, in the “Nice ride”closeup, he is clearly wearing a gray vest on top. When Bella walks past, Tyler is once again just wearing a red hoodie.Tyler’s gray vest appears in such a small clip, but the continuity error is quite obvious, and it was probably a result of multiple takes being used.

8Victoria’s Eyes

Twilight: Eclipse (2010)

While Victoria had appeared in the previous movies, she returns with a vengeance inTwilight: Eclipse.Twilightrecast Rachelle Lefevre’s Victoria with Bryce Dallas Howardfor the third film, when Victoria’s storyline came to a head.Wanting revenge on Edward for killing her lover James inTwilight, Victoria sets out to kill Bella. However, Edward, alongside the werewolf Seth, was finally able to defeat Victoria and Riley.

Twilight: Eclipse(2010)

Bryce Dallas Howard

When Edward killed Victoria,Victoria’s severed head notably had her eyes open in shock, yet, when Bella came closer, her eyes were suddenly closed. There is no reason why Victoria’s eyes should close after her head was severed. Therefore, this is just a continuity error caused by lack of control when changing camera angles.

7Bella’s Traveling Cannula

Twilightfocused on Edward and Bella’s budding romance, and the threat of vampire James. Luring Bella away by threatening her mother, James attacks Bella, before she is rescued byEdward and the Cullen family. After Bella’s shocking ordeal, she ends up in hospital recovering from her wounds. However,Twilightfans may notice a rather annoying continuity error as the camera switches.

After Bella’s shocking ordeal at the end ofTwilight, she ends up in hospital recovering from her wounds

Waking for the first time,in the extreme closeups, Bella’s cannula is in a tight “V” form and covers part of her eyes. Yet, in the wider shots, talking to her mom, the cannula is quite loose and nowhere near her eyes. This changes again when Edward “wakes up,” with the cannula positioned like in the closeup. Once you notice this small detail, it is hard not to see the traveling cannula on aTwilightrewatch.

6Lockscreen Phone Call To Rosalie

Twilight: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 (2011)

During their extended honeymoon off the coast of Brazil, Bella realized that she was pregnant. This situation changed the dynamic between Bella and Edward inTwilight: Breaking Dawn - Part 1as Edward originally wanted to get rid of the child, fearing for Bella’s health. However, when Edward was loading up the bags at the airport, Bella quickly called Rosalie for help in protecting the child.

Unfortunately,Twilightfalls victim to a common movie error; when Bella calls Rosalie, her phone is still very visibly on the lockscreen. The call obviously went through, as Rosalie helps Bella throughout the pregnancy, and later defends Renesmee at theend ofTwilight: Breaking Dawn - Part 2. However, with no caller screen, the unlucky angle provides an immersion-breaking moment to a very serious scene.

5Live News Report Time Difference

When Riley Biers and Victoria started amassing an army, the Cullens took note of the rising vampires when they turnedon the TV inTwilight: Eclipse.Around 30 minutes in,Carlisle, Jasper, and Emmett watch a live news report about “the escalating murders and disappearances” in the area. Bella and Edward arrive just as Carlisle declares they need to do something, but something is off about the timing of the report.

if the reporter is filming live from Seattle at night, why are the Cullens watching it in the daytime?

The CNN news report features a female reporter at a nighttime crime scene. In the corner of the TV, it says the story is “live,” and the reporter even confirms she is “reporting live” in her sign off. However, if the reporter is filming live from Seattle at night, why are the Cullens watching it in the daytime?Forks and Seattle are both located in the state of WA, USA, so there is no timezone difference, so the news report being set at night is evidently an error.

4Bella’s Half-Dry Jacket

Twilight: New Moon (2009)

After James, rumors about Carlisle’s age, and Jasper’s near-attack on Bella, Edward and the Cullens decide to move away from Forks.Edward’s decision to leave and break off their relationship sends Bella into a deep depression for months, as she struggles to cope with life without him. However, her relationship with Jacob suddenly begins to blossom, until a swift change causes him to become distant.

Bella’s 2-minute-long depression scene inTwilight: New Moonhas become famous over the years for its brilliant execution in showing the passing of time. It has also turned into a meme.

Confronting Jacob in the rain, there are actually two errors in thisscene. Bella’s truck door magically shuts when she runs up to Jacob, andonly the front of Bella’s jacket seems to get wet, despite them standing in the middle of a rainy field. This isn’t the only time Bella’s clothes defy water, as her jeans miraculously remain dry after running through a fountain whenBella tries to save Edward from the Volturi at the end ofTwilight: New Moon.

3Bella And Edward Don’t Sparkle

Twilight: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 (2012)

There have been many debates in theTwilightfranchise about this, butthe general rule for vampires sparkling is that their skin must be in direct sunlight, which is why the Cullens live in cloudy Forks. Initially,Robert Pattinson’s Edward demonstrates this sparkling vampire attribute inTwilight, when a gap in the clouds shows his strange physiology. While vampires not sparkling in the daytime can be explained away, there have been a few scenes that are questionable.

for some reason, neither Bella nor Edward sparkle in the scene - which is an unfortunate oversight, as it would’ve been cool to see

At the end ofTwilight: Breaking Dawn - Part 2, now both Edward and Bella are vampires, they revisit their favorite meadow. In the scene, although Bella has her back to it,the sun obviously shines on Edward’s face, which should make him sparkle. Yet, for some reason, neither Bella nor Edward sparkle in the scene - which is an unfortunate oversight, as it would’ve been cool to see.

2Reappearing Blood Pressure Cuff

In a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, there is another editing mistake when Kristen Stewart’sTwilightcharacteris taken to the hospital after the first movie’s car crash. Following Edward’s “adrenaline rush” moment,Bella is seen sitting on a hospital bed, while a nurse takes her blood pressure using a cuff around her right arm. Charlie enters and frets about the situation, threatening Tyler’s license as he apologizes from the next bed.

“You can kiss your license goodbye.” - Charlie

The nurse is seen on the left of the screen taking the blood pressure cuff off of Bella’s arm as Charlie tells Tyler “It sure as hell is not okay.” Yet after two closeups, during Charlie’s remark of “you may kiss your license goodbye,” the blood pressure cuff appears back on Bella’s arm, somewhat obscured by the nurse’s clipboard. Furthermore, the cuff disappears again when Dr Cullen enters to check on Bella.

1Bella’s Shoes Change Mid-Fight

In the action-packed battle ofTwilight: Breaking Dawn - Part 2- which later turned out to be just a vision - a lot of things happened, including character deaths. Their deaths alongsidethe dramatic battle sequence offered a fantastic finale to the films, showcasing a lot of impressive stunt work too. However, there was still room for one minor editing error.

Throughout the battle,Bella is notably wearing boots with a wedge heel, yet, when Edward launches her into the air to attack Aro, she is clearly wearing flat boots. While this blunder is nowhere near asbad as Renesmee’s unfortunate CGI and animatronic, the change in footwear is obvious, and was most likely due to safety and comfort concerns for Stewart’s stunts. The mistake is quick enough to dismiss, yet hardcore fans will always remember the little things inTwilight.
