On Thursday, All Elite Wrestling announced that its first game would launch today, February 26. That game isAEW Casino: Double or Nothing, and has been described as a collection of casino games featuringAEW-branded content and wrestlers. Now thatAEW Casino: Double or Nothingis available, however, early players are finding something that doesn’t quite match their expectations. Further, some players are saying thatAEW Casino: Double or Nothingis a complete reskin of another mobile casino game.
A Twitter user, who has now protected their tweets after a hostile response to their post, called attention to screenshots of bothAEW Casino: Double or Nothingand games from the same developer. Official screenshots AEW’s game look near identical similar to KamaGames' mobile games taken from the developer’s website, includingBlackjackist, Roulettist,and other gambling games. The games also utilize similar monetization systems that require users to purchase currency to continue gambling. Many believe the AEW game isn’t a new release at all, but just a reskin of these other KamaGames casino releases.

What should be the big differentiator between the games is the inclusion of AEW content. The listing for the game says it features “AEW-branded versions of slots, blackjack, poker, and roulette.” However, players say this isn’t the case. They say that there’s little to no AEW content in the game, outside of the Double or Nothing logo, which is from one ofAEW’s pay-per-viewshows. Further, the only appearance of wrestlers comes from loading screens and menus.
While the release ofAEW Casino: Double or Nothingon its own appears to be disappointing to many AEW fans who were hoping for something more closely related to professional wrestling, there’s also an additional layer of worry. AEW has made lofty promises regarding its upcoming video games. But if AEW is willing to license its brand for reskinned casino games, that could cast skepticism on the quality of itsAEW General ManagerandAEW console game.
