Chandi Struggled As DCC First Leader

She Was Hesitant About The Position

Although Chandi was honored by the fact that Kelli Finglass and Judy Trammell named her the first leader for the squad,it was clear that she was hesitant about accepting the position. Chandi, who had been with the squad for years and had taken on responsibilities outside of simply performing, was often more reserved than some of the more outgoing members of the DCC squad, which made her seem like she may not be up to taking on the responsibilities of a first leader. While she was an incredible performer,Chandi’s strengths were more performance-basedthan based in leadership ability.

Chandi Took A Leave Of Absence During Her Last Season

She Broke A DCC Rule

Towards the end of the NFL season, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders took a group trip to the Bahamas to rest and reset themselves moving into the home stretch. Chandi, along with the rest of the squad, were excited to be going on the trip and allowing themselves to get some much needed relaxation. While Chandi had been going through a breakup with her long-term boyfriend, she didn’t reveal the news to any of her DCC counterparts, trying to focus on the positives in her life. During the trip,Chandi met a guy who she connected with on a personal level.

While Chandi knew that she wasn’t supposed to invite anyone outside of the organization up to the room she was sharing with another DCC squad member, she wanted to chat more with the guy she’d met and chose to bring him up to her room. Violating a major rule with her behavior, Chandi clarified quickly onAmerica’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleadersseason 2that she’d only brought the guy up to talk, but realized she’d made a mistake quickly. After breaking the rules,Chandi took a leave of absence from her leadership position and the DCC, returning only to perform.
