Summary
AppleCare is kind of a must-have for those buying Apple devices. If you’re particularly clumsy, an out-of-pocket repair might instead leave you considering whether it’s actually a better idea to buy a whole new phone. Now, AppleCare is getting a lot more comprehensive if you have multiple devices.
The new plan lumps all the standard benefits ofAppleCare+into a bigger package. This includes 24/7 priority access to Apple support specialists, battery service coverage, and, most notably, unlimited repairs for accidental damage, such as drops or liquid spills, subject to service fees. The only difference is that while AppleCare+ covers one single device, AppleCare One can cover most, if not all, of the Apple hardware you own, greatly streamlining things. What’s more, if you trade in a covered device for a new one, the old product is automatically removed from your AppleCare One plan, and the new device is added.

This gives you extra perks you wouldn’t get otherwise, too. Previously, theft and loss protection were primarily available for the iPhone. Under the new unified plan, though, this benefit is now extended to also include the iPad and Apple Watch. Perhaps the most significant policy change introduced with AppleCare One, though, is the new eligibility window for adding devices. Traditionally, you had a 60-day window after purchasing a new device to enroll in an AppleCare+ plan. AppleCare One removes this limitation, allowing you to add eligible products you already own that are up to four years old, provided the devices pass an inspection to verify they are in good condition. This gives you the possibility of enrolling devices you initially declined protection for, or lets you enroll devices you bought second-hand.
This new plan is probably a must-have if you have more than one Apple device you use daily. Check it outon Apple’s websitefrom tomorrow to know more.
