Helldivers 2is planning a massive day of new releases later this month. Released in February of last year,Helldivers 2immediately became one of the biggest co-op games of the year, before declining in popularity after a series of controversial updates. Now, though, the bug-killing third-person shooter is rising in popularity once again, and that popularity is set to explode even further on August 26.
August 26 will bring two new major updates toHelldivers 2: first,the rumoredHalocollabwill be made real, with weapons, armor, camo patterns, and more fromODSTset to arrive on Super Earth (viaXbox Wire). And that’s not all from Microsoft:that’s also the same day asHelldivers 2’s Xbox launch. Players on all platforms will also see a major rebalancing update on August 26, buffing stun damage, support stratagems, and various weapons for an extra edge against the bugs.

Helldivers 2’sHalocrossover begins on August 26, andmainly consists of a Legendary Warbondthat’ll reward you with all sorts of weapons and armor straight out ofHalo. You’ll be able to pick up the iconic MASC Assault Rifle, M90A Shotgun, M7S SMG, and M6C/SOCOM Pistol, as well as two suits of armor: the A-9 Helljumper and A-35 Recon.
When you have one of theHaloarmor sets equipped, you’ll be able to usethe unique Feet First passive perk. This reduces the noise you make while moving, and makes you impervious to any and all leg injuries. You’ll also find it easier to discover points of interest at range.
You’ll also be able to earntwoHalo-inspired capes: the Honored Heirloom Cape, and the Eye of the Clandestine Cape. There are two new player banners to match these, along with the Rookie title, which uses the ODST logo for a little bit ofHaloflair on your in-game profile.
Players can access the new Warbond by purchasing it with in-game currency- namely, 1,500 Super Credits. You can earn these just by playing the game, so no need to spend real money on a premium battle pass. The Warbond stays in your account forever, so you can take all the time you need to earn these rewards.

All the new equipment aside, though,I can’t imagine a better game forHelldivers 2to collaborate with on the day of its Xbox launch.Halois such an iconic Xbox franchise, andHelldivershas quickly risen to PlayStation prominence with a similar premise.
Both games are, of course, abouthuman warriors in futuristic armor who massacre aliens indiscriminately. They both stress multiplayer modes (albeit of different types), and feature against-all-odds gameplay that’ll challenge your stamina and survival instincts both.
HaloandHelldiversmay take on different tones, but they’re decidedly similar in premise, and the ODST armor should fit right in with everything else about the game. Coinciding with its Xbox launch, which will undoubtedly bring leagues of new recruits to Super Earth’s ranks, theHalocrossover will make August 26 a great day to playHelldivers 2.
