Baldur’s Gate 3is a large, open-world game that is as deep as it is wide. Some locations have multiple levels to explore and discover. A map exists to keep players from getting lost but, even then, there will be events and hazards in between spots that players want to get to.

Placing a custom marker inBaldur’s Gate 3is handy for getting from place to place as well as remembering important spots. The quest log will inevitably fill up with dozens of directions that are not nearby. Placing custom markers can let players know not only where to visit but when.

One of the best parts about custom markers inBaldur’s Gate 3is that players can name their markers after placing them. If players need to place a marker for a specific quest or treasure, they can label the marker appropriately and make a point to come back after returning to the base and thenleaving the campagain.

Also an upgrade from most games, there is no single marker limit for these points. If players have twenty locations they want to remember, they can have twenty different markers on the map. When exploring and finding a locked chest, go ahead and mark it. Then, when prepared, switch party membersand have the Rogue pick the lock open. If players get encumbered, drop some heavy items down and place a marker so these pieces can be picked up at a later time.
Baldur’s Gate 3is available now for PC. The PlayStation 5 version will be available on September 6th, 2023. A version for Xbox Series X/S is still in development.
