This movie’s gonna be FLUH-UUSHED WITH CAH-AASH
Here’s a bit of movie casting that you didn’t think of, yet kind of makes sense—Varietyreports that Ben Schwartz ofHouse of LiesandParks and Recreationfame will voice the titular blue hedgehog in theSonic the Hedgehoglive-action movie. The news comes after the confirmation thatJim Carrey will indeed portray a live-action Dr. Eggmanin the same film.
Schwartz has some experience with voice acting, lending his distinct voice to theDucktalesrebootas Dewey Duck (the blue one) and the upcomingRise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtlesas Leonardo (the blue one). He will also appear in the filmBlue Iguanawith Sam Rockwell this year. We’re noticing a lot of blue with this one.
This movie project is a curious one; I keep thinking thatI’ll hate it, but the more I hear about the cast, the more I am intrigued. Sonic is a snarky but entertaining little piece of shit, a character trope that Schwartz is synonymous with. I have two questions, though: 1)will Sonic bang a human lady?2) Will Sonic call Eggman “the wooooorst?”
Sonic the Hedgehogis in production, and will also star James Marsden and Tika Sumpter. The film will dash into theaters on May 27, 2025.
