Now thatBorderlands 3is out, players have been combing through the game in search of everything it has to offer, such as various secrets and Easter eggs. Many have been found already, including one that is an obvious reference to popularstreamer Dr Disrespect.
Those that follow the online personality know his “violence, speed, and momentum” tagline. It appearsBorderlands 3developer Gearbox knows it too and included these exact words as an Easter egg inside the game. Players will find it on the Forceful Disruptor class mod, which adds +1 Violent Violence, +1 Violent Speed, and +1 Violent Momentum as well as +17% Grenade Radius.

If there was still any doubt that this was intentional, Dr Disrespect himself tweeted out a picture of the item, stating that it was the “best mod” in the game. The official Gearbox Twitter responded with a pair of googly eyes, essentially confirming that the developer knew what it was doing.
This is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of Easter eggs —Borderlands 3is full of them. For example, when the character FL4K uses his Rakk Attack skill, occasionally he will utter the phrase “Pocket Rakks,” which is likely a reference to the “Pocket Sand” moment fromKing of the Hilltelevision show. There is also aGame of ThronesEaster egg inBorderlands 3, as players can face off against the Mother of Grogans. There are three dragon-like Rakks that accompany the beast, solidifying it as a reference to everyone’s favoriteKhaleesi.
Other Easter eggs come in the form of weapons. There is aOne Punchshotgun, which is an incredibly powerful weapon that will blast through enemies like the show’s protagonist, Saitama. Players can obtain it by defeating an enemy named One Punch. As expected, it can down opponents with a single hit. Additionally, there is aLord of the Ringsshotgun and aRick and Mortyshotgun inBL3, which is obtained by finding and killing two characters named Wick and Warty.
These are just a few of the Easter eggs hidden throughoutBorderlands 3. Since the game has only just released, there are likely many more yet to be discovered.
