Borderlands: The Pre-Sequelhas been getting more attention lately thanks to its4K update inThe Handsome Collection, and that attention has included some more shift codes. Like in otherBorderlandsgames,Borderlands: The Pre-Sequelplayers can input shift codes to get golden keys that can in turn be used to open the golden chest for special loot.
NewBorderlands: The Pre-Sequelshift codes have been released as of August 12, 2025, and they expire on July 28, 2025. These codes replace the April 2019 shift codes, which expired on May 6. Unlike the shift codes forBorderlandsremastered, thePre-Sequelshift codes are different depending on platform, so those interested should keep that in mind.
One of these shift codes was released on theBorderlands 3Twitter page, whereas the other was released on theBorderlandsFacebook. Both codes will get players five golden keys to use inBorderlands: The Pre-Sequel, so fans should be sure to use them before they expire on May 20.

In the future, it’s likely that Gearbox will start winding down support forBorderlands: The Pre-Sequel, and that may include no longer sending out new shift codes for the game. This is because the studio will likely focus its efforts onBorderlands 3when that game releases in September, and soBorderlands: The Pre-Sequelfans should be sure to use the new shift codes for the game while they still have the chance to do so.
Of course, it’s also possible Gearbox will keep supportingBorderlands: The Pre-Sequelwith shift codes indefinitely. After all, the game has pretty consistently gotten a new set of shift codes every month.
Meanwhile, Gearbox has continued to release shift codes for otherBorderlandsgames as well.Borderlands: Game of the Yearin particular has gotten shift codes on a regular basis, so fans should redeem those as well. Luckily, it doesn’t seem as though theBorderlandsremastered shift codesexpire, so there may not be quite the same sense of urgency when compared toBorderlands: The Pre-Sequelshift codes.
