The new series fromBreaking BadandBetter Call Saulcreator Vince Gilligan just offered its first tease. Vince Gilligan is a writer known for his workon creatingBreaking Badand its spin-offs. For the first time in over a decade, he’s pursuing an unrelated project, currently going bythe working titleWycaro 339.

Apple TV’s social media shared an update on the upcoming series with a strange, mysterious image, which appears to be a smile carved into a petri dish with a Q-tip. The caption reads “Happiness is Contagious,” suggesting something about the plot. The series is expected to explore a philosophical sci-fi premise, starring Rhea Seehorn.

What The Apple TV+ Teaser Means

Wycaro 339 Is A Long Time Coming

Better Call Saul’sending was three years ago now, and this new series was announced shortly after. Since September 2022, there’s scarcely been any marketing forWycaro 339, making this reveal all the more integral, no matter its subtlety. The project now has this teaser and a full-length trailer releasing soon.

As for plot details, it’s still difficult to gauge what this show is about.Wycaro 339will be set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, following a sudden, world-changing event. Given the teaser’s “Happiness is contagious” line, many have made the connection that it could be about a ruthless virus.

This plot suggestion would also make sense for a series conceptualized during the COVID-19 Pandemic, but until that trailer releases, it’s impossible to say for sure. Either way,it’s exciting to see new material finally, and hopefully, a release date will be announced soon.

Wycaro 339is a working title and might not be the show’s actual name.

Our Take On Vince Gilligan’s Upcoming Show

There Aren’t Many Plot Details Available - & That’s Great

In a movie and television era where stories are often given away in their entirety by trailers and marketing,I’m thrilled to see someone as prestigious as Vince Gilligan letting his work remain mysterious. After all, before he createdBreaking Bad, he was known forThe X-Files.

With Gilligan leading the charge on an original concept sci-fi TV series, I’mhoping for something in the ilk ofThe LeftoversorSeverance. Apple TV+’s head of programming described the show as “unlike anything on television right now” (viaThe Wrap), which is critical at a time when the medium needs bold new leadership.

Rhea Seehorn has also proven to be one of the most talented TV stars of the century, and I’m not the only one rooting for her to receive some overdue Emmy appreciation this time around. Following up onBreaking BadandBetter Call Saulis daunting, but everything about the new series looks thrilling so far.
