What Happened To Morgan Elsbeth At The End Of Ahsoka Season 1?

It Raises Questions About Her Season 2 Future

In theAhsokaseason 1 finale,Morgan Elsbeth was given the“gift of shadows”by the Nightsisters' Great Mothers. Not only did this alter Morgan’s appearance, but it also infused her with dark side energy, making her more powerful. Morgan, along with some of Thrawn’s Night Troopers, was left behind to finish off Ahsoka Tano, Ezra Bridger, and Sabine Wren. Newly armed with theBlade of Talzin, Morgan faced off against Ahsoka Tano in an incredible duel.

Morgan’s body was lost when the Nightsister temple on Peridea was destroyed by Thrawn upon his escape from the planet.

During their duel, Morgan was able to destroy one of Ahsoka’s lightsaber hilts, which eventually forcedAhsoka to disarm Morgan and use her own weapon against her. It seemed that the blow from both the Blade of Talzin and Ahsoka’s remaining lightsaber was enough to kill the Nightsister. Morgan’s body was lost when the Nightsister temple on Peridea was destroyed by Thrawn upon his escape from the planet. However, it’s unknown what happened to her body afterward.

How Could Dave Filoni Bring Back Morgan Elsbeth?

Nightsisters Have Been Known To Be Resurrected

Dave Filoni had made it known that he wasn’t entirely done tweaking the directionAhsokaseason 2 would go. Whether that’s still true remains unclear, butAhsokaseason 1 established that Nightsisters possessed the power to reanimate beings who had previously died.Audiences saw this with the Inquisitor Marrok, who had been reanimated by Morgan Elsbeth, as well as many of Thrawn’s Night Troopers, who were brought back by the Great Mothers.

It’s possible that Dave Filoni could have the Great Mothers put a spell on Morgan Elsbeth to bring her back to life, and that she’d be an additional foe to Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren, or even that there was a spell cast before she died.RebelsandStar Wars: The Clone Warsshowed audiences thateven after death, Nightsisters can affect the living world, so it’s possible that Morgan could return as a Nightsister ghost.

This was also seen most recently with Asajj Ventress, whose resurrection was shown in this year’sStar Wars:Tales of the Underworldfollowing her return inStar Wars: The Bad Batchseason 3.

It’s still unknown what Baylan Skoll was seeking on Peridea, but it’s clearly something to do with the Mortis gods and the Force, meaning the Force could somehow play a part in Morgan Elsbeth’s resurrection. No matter what direction Dave Filoni takesAhsokaseason 2, it’s clear that if Diana Lee Inosanto’s Morgan Elsbeth appears, it will certainly have to be explained.
