Yes!

It’s crazy how much Microsoft changed their stance in the infamous “Xbox 180” debacle, and how much they’ve changed in the past month or so. The latest development is the decision to sell a Kinect-less Xbox, which has had a bigger impact than you’d notice at first glance.

Most notably, extra GPU power has been freed upnow that developers are not required to program for a Kinect-ready machine, ensuring higher resolution rates. Microsoft has confirmed this fact recently to OXM in regards to the upcomingDestiny.

Speaking on the issue, Major Nelson notes that there will be no downsides, stating, “I think about games likeSunset Overdrive, that’s going to take advantage of the June [software development kit],” Spencer went on. “And they’re going to use the increased capability that lowering the reserve will have to actually make a more vibrant and alive gameplay space, so that’s where they’re going to invest.”

The Kinect won’t malfunction or anything if you go back and forth between the game and the dash, which is great news! I’m just glad that in theory, there’s going to be performance parity between the Xbox One and PS4.
