In a recentinterview with GamesBeat, Treyarch’s Associate Design Director Matt Scronce and Senior Director of Production Yale Miller were asked about how snipers will play out inCall of Duty: Black Ops 6. When asked whether there will be consistency across differentCall of Dutygames when it comes to snipers, the devs confirmed that the new title will have a different sniper mechanism than its predecessors. InBlack Ops 6, each and every sniper rifle is one shot torso up. InModern Warfare 3andWarzone, not all sniper rifles have enough power to kill enemies with one shot if they hit in the head or chest. Obviously, each rifle will have its own perks when it comes to fire rates, recoil, and other weapon specs.

How Snipers Will Work in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

According to Scronce and Miller, they do have a goal of consistency but want to do the right thing for each game. So, players might see different sniper mechanisms in different games. Sniper rifles went through several changes inMW3andWarzonewith nerfs and buffs over the years. Some players on Twitter think that this might become the case forBO6, too, if the devs make changes to the mechanics based on community feedback. All in all, after four years of development, it seems likeBlack Ops 6may be a much bigger hit thanMW3orWarzone. The reveal trailer got 37 million views in just one day, while it took nine months forMW3to get 49 million.BO6is also one of the most pre-ordered games in many regions.

Aside from the multiplayer experience, fans have much more to look forward to with the release ofBO6. In particular, thecampaign mode inBlack Ops 6promises a rogue spy narrative set in the Gulf War era, featuring fan-favorite characters from previous games in the series alongside a new protagonist.

Players can expect eight hours' worth of rogue spy gameplay, as Miller confirmed in another interview thatBlack Ops 6’s campaign will have a similar length to otherCoDtitles. Fans are quite curious about how the story and the new sniper mechanism in multiplayer will work out inCall of Duty: Black Ops 6.
