The roguelike video gameChildren of Mortalets players take on the role of the Bergson family as they defend the land from monsters and the evil Corruption. The game was developed by game studio Dead Mage and published by 11 Bit Studios, and it has maintained support from both the developers and its player community.
Since its release in 2019,Children of Mortacontinues to receive new content through new updates to the game, some of which added either a new character or more game content for players. Now the game is receiving new DLC called Ancient Spirits, and it will add more story and gameplay content to the game.

Ancient Spirits was recently announced with a new trailer that shows a quick glimpse of the DLC content it will bring toChildren of Morta. The trailer itself portrays the DLC’s story in the household of the Bergson family through an old tale around a fireplace. It reveals that Ancient Spirits will introduce a brand newplayable character inChildren of Mortaportrayed as a levitating legendary warrior with possible mystical abilities preparing to fight against some enemies.
The trailer itself is short and shows only a quick glimpse of the new playable character before revealing that the DLC will be available this upcoming October 7. The Ancient Spirits DLC is priced at $4.99 and will be available to purchase on all launch platforms for the game. Players will be able to learn more about the new character on the release date along with information on morecontent being added toChildren of Morta.
The new character isn’t named in the trailer, but according to Ancient Spirits' description inthe Microsoft Store, their name is Yajouj’Majouj. The character is a legendary figure connected to an in-game tragic love story between a human man called Yajouj, and a female goblin called Majouj. According to the description, Yajouj’Majouj will have the unique ability to switch between two different forms at will, which creates a unique fighting style that combines them for deadly results in the game.
Players will be able to find out more about Yajouj’Majouj this October and can test out their new abilities inthe Family Trials game mode. Along with the new character, some of the new additions will also include new cosmetic skins for each character in the game. The DLC will add the Skin system, which will be a new section in the character selection menu where players can select special masks for the characters in the game. There will also be an in-game package that features new relics, new charms, and new graces for players to use inChildren of Morta.
