Absolute Superman#10 by Jason Aaron, Carmine Di Giandomenico, and Ulises Arreola follows the Man of Steel as he teams up with the Omega Men and their leader, Omega Primus, to take on the Lazarus Corps.
The battle brings Superman face-to-face with Ra’s al Ghul’s forces, including arematch with Peacemaker Chris Smith. But it soon becomes clear that this attack was all part of Ra’s master plan: to orchestrate the perfect moment tointroduce Kal-El to his sister, Talia al Ghul, a.k.a. Omega Primus.

Fans following the series will remember thatearlier issues hinted at Ra’s al Ghulcalling Superman his“son”and ideal heir, though Kal-El was unaware of this at the time. Now, in issue #10, the two finally meet face to face, and Ra’s makes his intentions clear by declaring himself Kal’s adoptive father by calling him“the Son of the Demon.”
Ra’s tries to sway Superman to his side by proposing they work together to“save the planet from itself”and“remake”it in their image. He once again refers to Kal-El as his son, a title the Man of Steel firmly rejects. Yet, Ra’s claim of fatherhood isn’t the biggest twist in this issue by any means.
Surprise! Omega Primus is Talia al Ghul & Superman’s New Sister
In a shocking turn of events, Superman is suddenly incapacitated by Omega Primus, a surprising twist, since readers believed Primus was his ally and an enemy of the Lazarus Corps, and by extension, Ra’s al Ghul. However, it’s soon revealed that Ra’s has been several steps ahead all along, orchestrating a far more complex plan than anyone realized.
After taking downSuperman and the Omega Men, Omega Primus removes her helmet, revealing her true identity. Ra’s proudly introduces her as his daughter and Superman’s new“sister,”Talia al Ghul. With this reveal, DC gives the Absolute Man of Steel an unexpected adoptive family, one that replaces the Kent name with the far more dangerous legacy of al Ghul.
The revelation that Omega Primus is actually Talia al Ghul and asecret member of the Lazarus Corpsis one of the most jaw-dropping twists in any Absolute title so far. While fans already knewSupermanwouldn’t carry the Kent name in this universe, no one could’ve predicted he’d become an al Ghul, even if it’s entirely against his will.
