With less than two weeks until the launch ofDestiny 2’s Forsaken expansion, developer Bungie has run out of major details to reveal. We know about the new gambit mode, thechanges to weapon slots, and have even had some teases about the endgame. At this point, all that’s left is to tie everything into a nice marketing package and offer it up to fans.

As promised, today Bungie released anew cinematic trailerforDestiny 2: Forsaken. Bungie has a long history of epic trailers – who can forget the live action Halo promos – and this one is no different. However, with the Forsaken release date so close, Bungie has issued a warning and we will reiterate it here. ThoseDestiny 2players that are already sold on Forsaken and want to go in as pure as possible should avoid the below trailer.

While past Destiny trailers have brought plenty of excitement, it’s hard to argue that this is among the game’s best. Knowing the stakes involved in the campaign and seeing Cayde-6 do his thing one last time should be enough to get players ready to exact revenge.

For those that haven’t been keeping track.Destiny 2: Forsakenwill include a wealth of new content for players to explore. As the trailer outlines, the story focuses onrevenge against Uldren, who kills Cayde-6 and unleashes some baddies from the Prison of Elders. In the case of this trailer, though, it is the Barons that take out Cayde-6, but we have seen it play out differently in the actual expansion.

Eventually, that quest to stop Uldren will lead players to the Dreaming City, the Awoken homeworld, where the core of theDestiny 2Year 2 endgame is said to take place. We’ve only seen flashes of whatsecrets the Dreaming City holds, but it has all been confirmed that the new horde mode, called Blind Well, will be there. And of course, the big new raid, with more bosses than any other, is waiting somewhere in the city as well.

Destiny 2: Forsakenreleases July 16, 2025 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
