The Season of the Dawn has brought a lot of changes toDestiny 2, marking the second anniversary of Bungie’s sci-fi looter-shooter. As well as the return of Mercury from the first game, the new Season also added story, balance changes and the Sundial, a new activity forDestiny 2players to take on.
The Sundial is a mission set onMercury, but in three different times: past, present and future. Each of these time periods has its own encounter, which changes based on a rotation. To bring a new layer of difficulty, the latest Weekly Reset has now added the Legendary Sundial, a juiced-up version of the activity for maximum challenge and rewards.

Truly Legendary
The Legendary Sundial makes a few changes to pile on the challenge. Perhaps the most dramatic one being theremoval of PvE matchmaking. Unlike the vanilla Sundial, players will be unable to quickly jump into a game of Legendary Sundial with strangers. Forming a strong party will be essential, especially with the new modifiers. Sundial activities have always had a different set of modifiers attached, but for the Legendary Sundial they are some of the hardest we’ve seen:
While the last of those modifiers may not seem the most challenging, it becomes much more so when combined with its name-sake, Ozletc the Sky Piercer. Ozletc is one of three Psion Flayer sisters who make up the rotating bosses of theSundial activity, and specializes in Arc damage.
Oztlec’s Arc
What makes Ozletc particularly nasty is her Voltaic Strike ability, which summons a series of verticalArc pulses. These each deal huge damage, and when charged up with the Ozletc’s Clepsydra modifier are particularly devastating. Fortunately, there is a second’s delay before the lightning strikes, allowing players with quick reflexes to jump to safety in time.
Ozletc is also often accompanied by Psion Commanders, who can shield her with their powers. What makes these Psion’s awkward to deal with is the fact that they protect themselves with impenetrable bubbles of force. These can only be bypassed by getting inside, and using amelee attack or weaponto defeat the Psion. This means that players taking on Ozletc will have to be constantly on the move, dodging Voltaic Strikes and melee-ing Psions.
Destiny 2is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
