With the game still being popular to this day, there will be a number of updates coming to the game in 2023.
Developer Innersloth had struck gold withAmong Usin the last couple of years. The popularity of the indie social deduction game skyrocketed in 2020, originally available for PC and mobile. Since then,Among Ushas been brought over to a variety of other platforms, with the developers continuing to maintain the game and add several new mechanics and content, such as new maps and cosmetics. The first thing of note coming toAmong Usare a number of UI and UX updates, aiming to clean up the interface and make the game flow smoother. This includes updatingAmong Us' cosmetic storefor easier navigation, making it easier to see how you can report a toxic player, and more. Other updates include a brand-new map, though the developers haven’t stated what it will be based on yet. There will be brand-new tasks that will be added with this map, along with a bunch of tiny details that can be found while exploring.
With the addition ofthe Hide n Seek mode toAmong Uslate last year, new roles, and other custom lobbies, the devs acknowledged that the game needs some improvements to the matchmaking function. The team will mostly be focused on updating the matchmaking, along with reworking the quickchat function.
The last bit of the post is focused on possible future additions to the game in 2023 and beyond. The first of which is morecollaborations withAmong Us, with some already planned to be revealed soon, though the devs remain secretive for the time being. The last addition, though more on the hypothetical side, is adding more roles into the game. The devs note how much fun fans were having with the new roles like Shapeshifter, Guardian Angel, and Scientist, where they changed the dynamic of the game a lot. However, the post states that more roles would be developed if the team has extra time to do so.
