The gameplay seems to focus heavily on mid-air combat, using the titular boomerang as both a weapon and movement option. Players will also be able to call on the ability to slow time to allow for more complex maneuvers. Sprawling, multilayered levels complement the game’s speedy traversal, hearkening to whatwe’ve seen recently inGhostrunner.
The game’s striking visuals play on video game staples, the trailer detailingBoomerang X’s spin on the flooded temples and lava caves seen in so many classic games. The trailer suggests a self-aware tone that plays on industry tropes, with a hearty helping of kung-fu-movie mysticism on the side for comedic effect, complementingBoomerang X’s high-flying action.
