While the Raid release date forThe Divison 2has been delayed until May, Ubisoft’s launch of the Public Test Server on PC is currently underway. A number of new elements and modifications are being tested at the moment via the PTS, including Skill Damage adjustments and overhauls to Talents and buffs but there are even more changes on the horizon. One change that has proved controversial amongThe Division 2community is a bump to Dark Zone drops up to Gear Score 515.

In today’s State of the Game stream, a weekly live podcast in which the developers at Massive Entertainment discuss the game and changes coming to it, the developers talked about Title Update 3 and changes on the way. The update, which will includebig changes to AI and equipment inThe Division 2, is in its testing phase until May 2, and with it comes the aforementioned adjustment to Gear Scores in the Dark Zone, which can be up to a score of 515 and “create an opportunity for players to play the Dark Zone to slowly increase their gear score.”

the division 2 how to get exotic components and upgrade exotics

Previously,The Division 2World Tier 5 Gear Scoreswere inconsistent and there was no guaranteed way to get drops up to Gear Score 500. Now players will have a path all the way up to Gear Score 515, but they will have to enter the Dark Zone to get past 500.

While this will giveThe Division 2players a way to continue to grind in preparation for the Operation Dark Hours, there are plenty that would prefer the 515 Gear Score items be shared across the entire game. For example, Heroic Missions inDivision 2will still have their Gear Score rewards capped at 500, even though they are arguably the hardest pieces of content in the game.

Hopefully, the response from players and testing on the PTS will help Massive make changes before Title Update 3 goes live sometime in May. Being able to earn items up to Gear Score 515 is a smart way to keep players invested in light ofThe Division 2raid being delayed.

The Division 2is currently out for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
