You know that theory about whether you return your empty shopping cart to a corral being a judge of your moral character? That’s how I feel about reviving your teammates inBattlefield 6. Just like abandoning your cart in an empty parking space, I believe you have less compassion for your fellow humans if you run past my body while I’m bleeding out inBattlefield. The key difference is there’s a tangible and immediate benefit to you, the medic, for reviving me.

Being ignored by those capable of bringing you back from the brink of oblivion is, unfortunately, something of aBattlefieldtradition. I get it: saving my pathetic life is taking away precious seconds you could spend working on your K/D ratio. I’ll admit there are instances where going for the revive is far too risky, butBattlefield 6gives medics more viability than ever. And it’s not just the right thing to do morally; you stand a better chance of winning the match if you’re actively reviving teammates.

Reviving Is Easier Than Ever In Battlefield 6

The Drag Mechanic Is A Game-Changer

I recall dragging being a feature that the developers wanted to implement in bothBattlefield 3andBattlefield 5. It’s understandably a tricky thing to get right – one player’s character model pulling another over theoretically infinite configurations of terrain is sure to result in an astounding number of complications.Battlefield 6finally pulled it off, though, and it works so smoothly that I’m constantly impressed by it.

You can grab any ailing squad member – or any teammate if you’re playing the Support class – and pull them into cover while simultaneously reviving them. This alone is bound to save the lives of medics many times over the course of even a single match. Obviously, you don’t want to step out into immediate danger to revive someone. Two deaths are worse than one, butmost players down and waiting to be revived will understand that there are threats that need to be dealt with first.

Battlefield 6’s death timer is generously long. If you hold the button to request a revive, you last quite a while before the game forces you to respawn. If you’re able to revive someone, but not immediately, you may ping their icon to let them know you’re on the way.Battlefield 6wants you to revive your teammates, and affords you plenty of leeway in doing so.

Reinforcement Tickets Are A Precious Resource

The benefits of reviving your teammates inBattlefield 6are a very simple equation. In the game’s principal All-Out Warfaregame modes– Conquest, Breakthrough, and Rush – you have a limited number of reinforcement tickets. In Conquest, holding objectives gradually drains the opposing team’s tickets, but every death also reduces that number by one. In Breakthrough and Rush, only the attacking team has to worry about reinforcement tickets, but reviving is equally important to defending.

It’s very straightforward:if you don’t revive your teammates, you lose the game faster. But there’s also more that goes into it. Reviving a teammate keeps them near the action, rather than having to spawn further away or wait to drop in on a squadmate. Getting someone back into the fight immediately keeps them apprised of the situation – they know where they just got downed from, and they can continue fighting for the objective they were just working on.

The organized chaos ofBattlefieldis often a game of brute force. If you may keep steady pressure on an objective with enough teammates, you’ll eventually make it through. Ignoring an opportunity to revive a teammate jeopardizes your chances by giving the opponent a reprieve. Defending benefits from the same idea: keeping bodies on the objective simply makes it more difficult for the attackers to capture it.

Yes, fairly often you’re going to get killed going for a revive, but that’s just how it goes – that shouldn’t be a deterrent to helping your team. Like anything else inBattlefield, being a medic takes practice and strategy. Use the drag mechanic when it’s beneficial, pull out your defibrillator if you need to get multiple teammates up quickly, and use smoke grenades liberally to block the enemy’s line of sight.

Even on the most fiercely contested objectives, it’s hard to defeat a team that has competent medics.Battlefieldisn’t just about top fragging every game; it’s easy to climb the scoreboard as a medic, and reviving teammates will help you win the match.Battlefield 6struggles with an age-old series issue, but you’re going to have a much better time if you go for that revive.
