According to Bandai Namco Entertainment,Dragon Ball Z: Kakarotis meant to be the most-devoted depiction of Kakarot, the main character better known as Goku, and his adventures. What that exactly remains to be seen, but everything from the classic Raditz fight andshowing Goku fishing in a trailerhas added layers to that idea. Now, it seems as if Bandai has shown fans the next step in this depiction of Goku.

In the latest episode of Jump Magazine, the publisher has confirmed two major things. First, the game will feature the Cell Saga, meaning the story will continue after Super Saiyan Goku’s defeat of Frieza on Namek. This presumably means that the entirety ofDragon Ball Zwill be featured in the game, so the Buu Saga should be confirmed next. However, the second thing that the publisher confirmed takes it a step further inDragon Ball Z: Kakarot.

It appears that Bandai is going deep with its fan-service, as a classic, yet anime-only filler episode will somehow appear inDragon Ball Z: Kakarot. Goku’s Ordeal is the name of the aforementioned episode that is also the 125th episode of theDragon Ball Zseries. In it, Goku and Piccolo are tasked with obtaining their driver’s license, which is as hilarious as it sounds.

It’s uncertain how the driving episode will be exactly implemented, but it is said to be some type of mini-game, which also expands onPiccolo’s gameplayin the forthcoming action RPG. The inclusion of this episode up to and through the completion of the Cell Saga also explains why Gohan from this period and Trunks have been added to the playable character list.

Speaking ofplayable characters inDragon Ball Z: Kakarot, Gohan (likely Teen Gohan) and Trunks join four others, one being Goku, of course. It seems likely this list will expand as the game gets closer to release, but it is up to six now, though it seems plausible that only Goku or Piccolo could take part in the driving mini-game.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarotwill release early 2020 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
