Final Fantasy 14continues to be a dominant force in the MMORPG space. As the game enters seven years since its reboot and a decade since the original version, Square Enix continues to hold cross over events.

The next event forFinal Fantasy 14will be the reintroduction of some rocky foes. The Breaking Brick Mountains collaboration is making a return after its initial rerun in 2017. This event will bring theDragon Questfranchise into the world ofFinal Fantasy 14and will run from July 2 to July 27.

The reason for the rerun is likely to giveFinal Fantasy 14players who may have missed the two previous runs a chance to get some goodies. The return of Breaking Brick Mountains will give players a chance battleDragon Quest’s Golem invasion and get someDragon Questswag.

Square Enix branded crossovers are not entirely uncommon withinFinal Fantasy 14. Last year saw fanfare overtheNier: Automatacrossoverwhich includedNierthemed raids and rewards. Breaking Brick Mountains will similarly feature many of the cute references and gear from theDragon Questgames. The announcement of Breaking Break Mountains arrives as Square Enixcancelled theFinal Fantasy 14Fan Festdue to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Final Fantasy 14is the second MMORPG to bear theFinal Fantasyname.Final Fantasy 11was the first to tackle the experiment and is still beloved by fans. There aresome features fromFinal Fantasy 11that players still want implementedFinal Fantasy 14. The most recent event forFinal Fantasy 14wasaFinal Fantasy 11crossoverwith The Maiden’s Rhapsody.

So while many are still trying to stay home,Final Fantasy 14’sDragon Questevent may be a good reason to do so. Those looking for the Golems might just stay for the Puff Puff massage.
