So far,Dreamshas been an incredible tool for aspiring and established game developers to design, offering a platform to experiment with new ideas, create models, and much more.Dreamshas landed developers jobs, with some projects being enough of a proof of skill to justify bringing them on a team in a professional capacity. A new scene uploaded to YouTube by Martin Nebelong has achieved a similar level of quality.
During a Summer of Games stream a few days ago, Epic Games unveiled atech demo of Unreal Engine 5, a revolutionary new iteration of the engine with the tools for developers to truly harness the power of next-gen consoles. The demo was impressive, showing off incredible new lighting quality, high detail environments, and more. Nebelong uploaded aDreamsrecreation of the beginning of the video, and the result is impressive.

While the scene isn’t quite as convincing as Unreal 5, it’s about as close as one could expect to get to the real thing. Dynamic lighting doesn’t change as pieces are moved, and the ground lacks the detail of Epic’s demo, but it’s impressive nonetheless. Other scenes have shownrealistic forests created inDreams,along with games likePTbeing remade, but the Unreal scene is leaps and bounds above those, visually.
According to the video’s description, the scene is the result of a “two hour sculpt,” which doesn’t seem like much of an investment, considering the quality that came from it. While it’s mostly just a visual element here,Epic’s demo was fully playable, though there are no plans to expand it into a full game. Still, the scene is incredibly exciting and should sell more people on the idea ofDreams,if anything.
Dreamshas only been out of early access for a few months, though an impressive stream of creations has emerged from it in that time. With the PS5 releasing this holiday, it isn’t entirely clear ifDreamswill be carried over to the next generation of hardware, though Sony’s current stance onPS5 backward compatibilitymakes it seem like a pretty solid possibility, so there will likely be stellarDreamscreations for years to come.
