Elden Ringis one of FromSoftware’s most interesting titles in a multitude of ways. Perhaps the most obvious thing players will note as a departure from past Soulsborne titles is the introduction of a vast, open world inElden Ring. Players can explore the Lands Between at their own pace, leveling up if they feel they’re not yet strong enough to face a certain area or boss or just running straight into Caelid in the opening minutes to prove how strong they are. However, the open worldisn’t without its perils and it is where some ofElden Ring’stoughest bossescan hide.
One such difficult enemy that players will encounter in the open world ofElden Ringis the Fallingstar Beast. There are three Fallingstar Beasts inElden Ring, each in a different part of the map. The beasts in the Altus Plateu and Caelid are both of a comparable strength, while theFull-Grown Fallingstar Beast found in Mt. Gelmiris a much tougher opponent. OneElden Ringfan may have discovered why the Fallingstar Beast gets stronger as it grows, and they may have also found out what it would evolve into were the player to leave it alone.

YouTuber BaronVN uploaded a video which took a closer look at the model ofElden Ring’sFull-Grown Fallingstar Beast. Unlike its other variations, the fully grown beast has what looks to be a strange eye sticking out of the top of its head. Looking closer at this eye, BaronVT takes away the fur covering most of it to reveal that a skull with mandibles is actually growing from the Fallingstar Beast.
This gives the strange creature an appearance similar to Astel, Naturalborn of the Void, which is anotherboss found inElden Ring. Astel is one of the toughest and most vital bosses to defeat in the game, and to find out that three more of the creature could appear in the Lands Between if the Fallingstar Beasts were left alone is an unsettling thought.
Luckily, the player does not have to deal with three more Astels inElden Ring, even if they don’t defeat all the Fallingstar Beasts. Fans of the game have been praising the developers at FromSoftware for this level of attention to detail. Some had already theorized that the Fallingstar Beasts were but the first stage in an evolutionary process, and now it seems by looking at the creature without its fur that this has been all but confirmed. This is just one small piece of thevast lore attached toElden Ringthat fans have been discussing ever since the game came out.
Elden Ringis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S.
