Spider-Man Noir With His Hands Up Gesturing To Come At Him In Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse

Cage’s Spider-Man Noir costume is comic book-accurate. The live-action version of the Spider-Man variant sports the same iconic fedora, trench coat, gloves, and goggles combo that made him look so different from the main Peter Parker or Miles Morales' versions of Spider-Man in the comics. While his costume might be accurate to the comics, Cage’s live-actionSpider-Noirseries will make some changes to the hero, with him not being Peter Parker as the biggest.

During the Amazon Upfront (via@nineralex/Twitter),Prime Video also shared the firstSpider-Noirteaser.

The footage shows Cage’s Spider-Man Noir in a couple of fight scenes, Cage’s character without his costume, and how there is a nod to horror in the show’s tone. The series will be available in both black and white and in color.

What The First Look At Nicolas Cage’s Spider-Man In Spider-Noir Means

The Upcoming Superhero Series Is Going For The Right Approach

WiththeSpider-Versemovies making the Noir version of the character popular, a lot of fans now know what he and his world look like. If the Prime Video series had tried to make the show look starkly different from the way Spider-Man Noir looks and behaves in the animated movies, then it would risk turning away fans of the most popular iteration of the character. With the added factor that Cage is returning to the character, now as the live-action hero in Spider-Noir, a comics-accurate approach was the only way to go.

While the focus of the first officialSpider-Noirimage and teaser will rightfully be on Nicolas Cage’s live-action Spider-Man Noir, there is more to it. They confirm thatPrime Video will make Cage’s Spider-Man universe uniquewhen it comes to live-action versions of the hero. While Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland’s Spider-Men have all had modern versions of New York City, Cage’s Spider-Noir will be set in a black and white world that fits the character’s aesthetic and the show’s 1930s setting.

Our Take On The First Look At Nicolas Cage’s Spider-Man In Spider-Noir

The Spider-Man TV Show Looks Like A Breath Of Fresh Air

I thinkNicolas Cage’s Spider-Man Noir looks pitch-perfect. Even though I’m not a fan of making the character someone other than a version of Peter Parker, I appreciate howSpider-Noirwent for a comics-accurate approach with his costume. This truly feels like Cage’s Spider-Man Noir from the animatedSpider-Versemovies brought to life in the best ways. I like how the show will be black and white, suiting the character’s story and making it unique when compared to Spider-Man’s live-action adventures.Spider-Noircould be a long-running series if season 1 is as great as Cage’s Spide-Man Noir looks.
