It Will Be An Extension of His First Tour Post-COVID

After COVID-19 forced Paul McCartney to cancel the European leg of his Freshen Up tour in 2020, a tour which was supposed to conclude with the Glastonbury Festival,it was essentially written in stone that McCartney’s first post-pandemic live performance would be something huge.Fittingly, McCartney closed the first leg of the Got Back Tour with the Glastonbury Festival in 2022.

The Got Back Tour ended in December 2024, with a two-night event in London. McCartney, however, was scheduled to perform forSaturday Night Live’s50th anniversary concert, and must have realized how much the US missed him, becausenot a year after the tour’s end, he announced its North American resurgence coming this September.

McCartney Announced 19 Dates Across the US and Canada

After 59 shows throughout seven legs of the Got Back Tour from 2022 to 2024, Paul McCartney has announced the tour’s return to North America,with 19 new tour dates across the US and Canada.The tour began in the US in 2022, so it just feels right that he brings the event full circle, and closes it out here, too.

Of the 19 tour dates he announced, 16 will occur across the US, and three shows in Canada. The 2025 leg of the tour begins in Palm Desert, California, on September 29th. From there, McCartney will travel across the US, with a short stint in Canada,before closing out the tour with a two-night finale in Chicago.

McCartney’s announcement comes after a surprise three-night run at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City, which McCartney played just before his performance onSNL50. Though New York is not on the itinerary this fall,the Got Back Tour’s return will see McCartney’s first-ever performance in both Palm Desert, and in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
