TheFortniteItem Shop has been refreshed once again and with it comes an emote for the “Toosie Slide,” the dance from the titular Drake song.

Drake released the song in early April, alongside a music video where he dons aCoronavirusmask and performs the dance in his marble-on-marble Toronto mansion. Since then, “Toosie Slide” has exploded into a viral phenomenon, especially on TikTok. The song also marks Drake’s third time debuting at number-one on theBillboardHot 100, making him the first male recording artist to do so.

And now, slightly late to the party, the dance has made its way into Epic Games’Fortnitein the form of an emote. The emote even plays a snippet of the actual song in the game. The “Toosie Slide” retails for 500 V-Bucks on the Item Shop, equivalent to about $5, which is the average price for an emote of the Rare variety.

Fortniteis no stranger to media crossovers, having just recently featured an entire Deadmau5 concert, with another one on the way. This summer will also featureFortnite’sfirst feature-film presentationwhen one of acclaimed director Christopner Nolan’s movies will be shown.

All of this is due in large part toFortnite’snew Party Royale mode, which is where these aforementioned media events are taking place. Party Royale’s combat free environment has led toFortnitebecoming more of a social platform, which has come at a perfect time, where many players social interactions are limited due to the Coronavirus pandemic. This has all culminated inFortnite’snew record of 350 million registered players.

Hopefully, players will be able to use the “Toosie Slide” to dance their sadness away over the live event markingthe beginning of Chapter 2 Season 3 being delayed. The “one-time-only” live event called The Device, which originally was supposed to happen today, is expected to shake up things considerably, with rumors of underwater swimming becoming a gameplay mechanic spreading. Players who aren’t as excited about the “Toosie Slide” can work on the new challenges like Location Domination and Storm The Agency while they wait for Season 3.
