With theAvengers-inspired Infinity Gauntlet mode now live, it seems pretty clear thatFortnite’s Hero vs. Villain theme is in full swing. For those who are unaware, this season introduced two teams: the heroes and the villains. Moreover, a recent datamine has suggested that there will be some form of a showdown between the two teams and another destruction of the in-game map.
It’s worth noting that the villains have a missile silo near Snobby Shores and the heroes have a mansion in the easternmost point of the map, which has led to speculation that there will be some form of capture the flag mode between these two locations. In the villain’s base of operations, players discovered amassive missile, but this datamine suggests this could be space rocket, not a missile. Check out a recently datamined video showing a UFO flying to Mars:
Notably, theweek 2 blockbuster rewardshows Omega escaping a prison, perhaps causing the explosion in the loading screen reward for the blockbuster challenge 1. The reward for the week 1 challenge was titled “the monster of Moisty Mire,” and it seems possible that the villains may somehow hatch the monster and use it to destroy places on the map.
It seems likely that this monster’s path of destruction will affect the map every few weeks throughout season 4 ofFortnite. To recap, the rocket and the two bases may lead to some showdown event or limited time mode, with the space rocket perhaps creating a new map or being used to change the current map. Omega and the monster of Moisty mire could somehow be used to continuously change the map, which was something teased during season 3.
While this news comes from datamined information, players should take this information with a grain of salt, as neither Epic Games nor People Can Fly have commented on this speculation. It does seem likely, however, that something comes from the base of operations or Omega’s escape from the prison, but only time will tell how either of these manifests inFortnite.
