Back inSeason 3ofFortnite, Epic Games introduced a Self-Service Cosmetics Return system for its wildly popular multiplayer sandbox survival title in Update 3.6, but the developer had to temporarily disable the feature after discovering an unforeseen issue with it to make some usability improvements. Now, it looks as if the studio is set to bring the feature back again starting at the beginning of next month, on July 11, 2025.
This much was revealed by way of the Twitter account known asFortnite: Battle Royale Leaks, as fans of the game can see the tweet below wherein a screen captured image of an email from Epic Games' staff has confirmed the Self-Service Cosmetics Return feature goes live again next month. The message goes on to state that players will be allowed to return up to three cosmetic purchases for a refund of V-Bucks over the duration of the lifetime of one’s account.
While the resurgence ofFortnite’s Self-Service Cosmetics Return system will likely be welcomed with open arms byFortnitefans, it’s important to realize that there will potentially be additional stipulations involved with the process of receiving a refund. After all, Epic Games' original update that included the feature also stated that items bought by players would only be eligible for refunds within 30 days of having been purchased.
All things considered, should the Self-Service Cosmetics Return system work as intended, thenFortnitefans will certainly see the feature as a win, especially since they might have spent their V-Bucks on one superficial item they liked initially only to have an even cooler looking one be introduced shortly thereafter. Hopefully, the return system will go live before Epic Games unleashesa slew of new skins, pickaxes, and glidersto the hybrid construction shooter.
