It was a massive week for video game news thanks to the PlayStation September 2021 Showcase. The 40-minute stream packed in a number of huge announcements, giving fans a taste of what the next few years will hold for the PS5 and PlayStation as a whole. With a ton of new games on the horizon, Cameron and Anthony had a lot to discuss.
Kicking things off, the were a few minor announcements.Uncharted 4is coming to PCand PS5 along withLost Legacy,Grand Theft Auto 5’s enhanced edition was delayed to March 2022, andAlan Wake’s remaster got a new trailer, with a release slated for October 5. However, the show had a lot more in it for fans to rip through.

As far as games with gameplay go, Forspoken, Project Eve,andGuardians of the Galaxyall featured some sort of in-game element.Guardians of the Galaxyleaned heavily into story cinematics, though it’s still a decent new look at the game.ForspokenandProject Evewere standouts though, both featuring dazzling particle effects and interesting enemy design.
Finally, there was theStar Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remakeannouncement, a newWolverinegame,Spider-Man 2, and an extended look at God of War Ragnarok. All of those announcements coupled together made for an incredible showcase, certainly a bigger one than many were anticipating.
