One of the most acclaimed first-person shooters of all time isGoldenEye 007on the Nintendo 64. But despite the game’s immense popularity, it has remained unavailable on modern platforms. This is due to messy licensing issues, as therights to the James Bond brandhave bounced around between different video game companies over the years, Nintendo published the original release, and Xbox-owned Rare developed it.
There have reportedly been attempts to bring back the originalGoldenEye 007, but it seems as though talks have fallen through over the years. However, it’s looking increasingly likely that the long-awaitedGoldenEye 007remaster is finally going to happen. Recently, a Rare developer unlocked an achievementGoldenEye 007, and now the full list of achievements for the unannounced remaster have appeared in an official place: the Xbox website itself.

Previously, theGoldenEye 007achievements popped up on TrueAchievements, but now they’re visible on the Xbox website, complete with graphics and a description for each achievement. As was already known by the previous leak, theGoldenEye 007achievements will task players with fully mastering the classic game, both in terms of its single-player offerings and its groundbreaking multiplayer.

Now that it seems theGoldenEye 007remaster is truly happening, the only question that remains is when will fans get to play it. As it so happens, theXbox & Bethesda Games showcaseis currently scheduled for June 12 at 10am PT. It stands to reason thatGoldenEye 007could be announced at the event, and maybe even surprise-launched for Xbox Game Pass. Fans will have to tune in to find out.
