Several weeks ago, the developer Rockstar Games officially announcedits decision to add Nightclubsto its multiplayer titleGrand Theft Auto Onlineat some point this month, but the studio failed to provide an exact date for fans. Thankfully, Rockstar has now given an exact day as to when players should expect the update to arrive, with what is now being called “After Hours” coming to the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions of the open world release next week on July 30, 2025.
As seen below in Rockstar Games' trailer forGrand Theft Auto Online’s After Hours, the title’s new Nightclubs will actually feature world-class DJs such as the artists Tale of Us, The Black Madonna, Solomun, and Dixon. What’s more is that the developer has also opted to use the update as a means to bring back a fan-favorite character from the long-running franchise, withGTA 4’s Tony Prince (AKA Gay Tony) returning.
According to Rockstar Games' description ofGrand Theft Auto Online’s After Hours update, players will be partnering up with Gay Tony to open and run a successful Nightclub, while also using it as a front for one’s various criminal enterprises. With this being the case, there’s a good chance that the new content could include more narrative-focused elements than previous DLC drops such asFurther Adventures in Finance and Felony.
All things considered, it looks as ifGrand Theft Auto Online’s After Hours update could provide players with a solid amount of content to keep them busy until Rockstar’s release ofRed Dead Redemption 2later this year. While the studio has promised that support for the online component ofGTA 5will continue onceRDR2goes live, it’s safe to presume that a plethora of players will make the leap from the streets of Los Santos to the Western-themed title’s open world at launch, and cause a dent in theGTA Online’s overall engagement.
Grand Theft Auto Online’s After Hours update is coming on Jul 19, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
