Hollow Knight: Silksongis one of the biggest mysteries in the gaming industry right now. The game has been in development since 2019, and with gameplay shown and arelease window finally confirmedearlier this year, fans are more excited than ever to finally play the much-anticipated sequel. According to a report fromDealabs(text in French and roughly translated to English by Google), the Xbox ROG Ally and Ally X willallegedly be released on October 16.Hollow Knight: Silksongwas stated at one point to be"available at launch and in Game Pass when Ally releases later this year"by Xbox president Sarah Bond, which would imply the game has to be released before October 16. None of this information has been officially confirmed.
However,Silksong’s developer, Team Cherry, stated that the release ofSilksongis not dependent on the Xbox hardware releases and the game will come out this year, according to a post from theHollow KnightDiscordserver. Community manager Matthew ‘Leth’ Griffin wrote:“I confirmed BEFORE Holiday,“Griffin added,“we are not tied to a console release.”

That doesn’t guarantee the release date of the Ally handhelds in October orSilksongbefore that, but it wouldn’t be surprising if this information turns out to be true. WithHollow Knight’s previous release strategyin most fans' minds, it seems an official release date may be given near the end of September, if this new leak is true.
Silksongwill be playableat Gamescom later this month, so fans in attendance may get to test the game for its current build quality then. The game is also slated for a Nintendo Switch 2 release this year, which could make that console’s fall line-up even stronger.
