It’s been five days since the reveal ofCrash Bandicoot 4and longtime fans of the series could not be happier. Not only does this mark the official return ofCrash Bandicootin the form of an entirely new game, but it also gives the developers an opportunity to improve upon the originalCrashtrilogy. In the days following the announcement, developers have begun to discuss what fans can expect from this new game.
Ever since theCrash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogyremaster released, the series has completely revitalized itself. For over a decade,Crash Bandicoothad seen no new games in its main franchise, with the last one beingCrash: Mind Over Mutant, which was released back in 2008.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Timeis the first newCrashgame to come out in over a decade andfrom what was shown in the reveal trailer, it looks like the game is borrowing a lot of the mechanics and presentation featured in theN Sane Trilogy. Though, this drew some curious speculation from fans in terms of gameplay difficulty.
One of the biggest criticisms that both fans and reviewers had in terms of theN Sane Trilogywas its difficulty.The originalCrashgameshad an incredibly high level of difficulty that fans had largely forgotten about. Thus, one of the aspects that the developers will focus on is having fewer difficulty spikes.
The level of challenge present in the original games will still shine through inCrash Bandicoot 4, but it will focus on being much more consistent in terms of overall difficulty in ways that are tough, but fair. The developers also mentioned that various modes, challenges, and other features that will help to showcase said difficulty. Though, it will be interesting to see how the developers address this level of difficulty when it comes toCrash Bandicoot 4’slocal multiplayer.
It’s nice to see thatCrash Bandicootis still loved and appreciated by many in the gaming community in spite of the series' decade long hiatus. For how little attention the series was given in that time, it’s amazing to see how quickly and happily the series was welcomed back. Withthe large variance of levels that will be featured inCrash Bandicoot 4, fans have a lot to be excited about.
