During a panel at BlizzCon 2018, Blizzard’s Ion Hazzikostas announced that the content of the upcomingWorld of Warcraft: Classicwill not be released all at once, but will be distributed and divided in a series of stages.
Stage one will recreate the version ofWorld of Warcraftback in March of 2005. This means that players will be granted access to the Molten Core and Onyxia’s Lair raids. Moreover, the panel confirmed that both bosses Lord Kazzak and Azuregos will be present at launch as well.
The second stage will introduce the Blackwing Lair, battlegrounds, PvP rewards, and Zul’Gurub, which recreates the July 2005 version of the game.
Stage three will then bring the iconic Ahn’Qiraj event, which was considered the greatest moment in the game’s history, along with Tier 0.5, Silithus content, and Green Dragons.
Lastly, Stage four will introduce the Naxxramas raid and the Scourge invasion world events.
However, Hazzikostas did not reveal the exact release dates for each of the stages. It has been previously confirmed, though, thatWorld of Warcraft Classicis tentatively planned to release sometime during the summer of 2019. During the opening of Blizzcon 2018 last November, Blizzard also answered some of the most burning questions fans have been asking since the announcement ofWorld of Warcraft Classic.
Thedemoallowed players to catch a glimpse of all the modern updates that will be featured inWorld of Warcraft Classic.Players also began the demo at level 15 so they could test some skills up to level 19. Of course, given thatWorld of Warcraft Classicis still in development, Blizzard decided to impose limitations as to what players can access and explore during the demo.
World of Warcraft Classicis slated to release on summer 2019 for the PC.
