Deadlinereports that Hulu is developing a TV adaptation ofThe Summer of Songebirds, the best-selling novel by Kristy Woodson Harvey. The story revolves around the power of forged family, focusing on three girlfriends and the bond they forged in their childhood summers spent in North Carolina.
But now in their 30s, the trio grapple with the harsh realities of being adults. They also confront secrets and betrayals, both from the past and present, which threaten their seemingly unbreakable connection. The project hails from Brennan Peters, who previously worked as a co-producer and writer on the Prime Video sci-fi dramaThe Power. It will be produced by Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment and 20th Television.
