For those who don’t know,Morbius typically dons a gothic vampire outfitin the comic books, which is usually both black and red. When asked whether fans would be able to see this outfit, Leto said it won’t be making an appearance in this film but down the road it’s definitely something that the filmmakers would love to explore. “We talked about it, and decided for the first film it probably wasn’t going to happen,” Leto said during an interview with ComicBookMovie’s Josh Wilding. “There are some pretty great examples in the early comics and ideas of where we could go in the future if we suited up. That could be a lot of fun, actually. I like a lot of those elements. The artwork for me was a great source of inspiration.”
Based on the trailers,Morbiuslooks to be taking heavy inspiration from the comic books, as the actor said. It looks to be utilizing a lot of shadows, darker lighting and an eerie theme despite being an action film. The film looks creepy, for all intents and purposes, which really fits in line with the titular character. It’s a shame that the costume won’t make an appearance, but many fans cancompareMorbiusto theVenommovies, where the lead symbiote doesn’t have his iconic Spider symbol.
