When theFateswornexpansion released forKingdoms of Amalur, THQ Nordic hoped to capitalize on the newfound popularity, but much like with Re-Reckoning’s release, the Nintendo Switch version was slated to arrive at a later date. The developers were hoping to still hit a 2022 release window, but according to the game’s official Twitter account, it would seem that the Switch version was delayed to 2023.

The statement issued by the team explained that though the developers gave their best in the past few months, the game’s Nintendo Switch port wasn’t ready to meet the high expectations of THQ Nordic, nor the players ofKingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning. While this has undoubtedly been a disappointment for some fans of the game, especially with no new release date given, it is ultimately a decision that will pay off in the long term.

For fans of the RPG genre who may want to give the IP a try, the remaster is currently having a significant discount on Steam that will last until January 5. The combat system andweapons inKingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoningare some of the best in the industry, and the game’s setting written by R.A. Salvatore has plenty of charm. While the game sometimes suffers from trying to be everything at once, the concepts that it does well truly makeKingdoms of Amalurshine.
