Dontnod Entertainment, the studio behind the episodic graphic adventure gameLife is Strangeand the recently released action-RPGVampyr, have now decided to put out a new trailer for its forthcoming project,Twin Mirror. Billed as a psychological thriller, Bandai Namco will be publishing the title, and it’s coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2019.
As seen in the footage below, players will take control ofTwin Mirror’sprotagonist, Sam, an investigative journalist returning to his hometown of Basswood, West Virginia to bury a friend. The circumstances for his sojourn home turns even more grim, as he wakes up in his hotel room to his bloody shirt and no memory of the last night. Over the course of this new story from theLife is Strangedevelopers, Sam will need to put together the clues and find out what’s really going on.
Those intrigued by the announcement forTwin Mirrorwill likely learn more about the new project from Dontnod quite soon, asE3 2018is right around the corner. Based on the contents of the above trailer, hopefully the studio will be able to offer fans more clues as to what kind of fate Sam faces in the forthcoming story-driven investigation game. The nature of the project seems to be going forTwin Peaks' style and take on the notion of duality, with an added dash ofMementoto make it even more of a head trip.
By the looks of it so far,Twin Mirrorappears to contain a type of gameplay similar to that ofLife is Strange, in that the narrative will unfold within the framework of an interactive movie. So, since the story will be the main focus, one hopes Dontnod will use the coming days and weeks to further unravel the mysteries surrounding its new game. With this being the case, we will simply have to wait and see what else Dontnod Entertainment has in store for fans withTwin Mirror.
Life is Strangemaker, Dontnod Entertainment, is currently scheduled to launchTwin Mirrorat some point in 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
