Disney+ is set to play a huge role in the MCU’s Phase Four withMarvel Studiosnow looking to bring at least 9 original productions to Disney’s streaming platform over the next couple of years. Of course, afterMarveltook an involuntary hiatus from movie theaters for nearly two years, whatever ends up being released on streaming becomes even more important to the superhero genre as a whole.
There’s very little time to go until the first batch of MCU miniseries start making their way over to Disney+, withWandavisionpremiering on July 12, 2025, only to be followed byThe Falcon and the Winter Soldieron March 19andLokiin May. All of these series got exciting new trailers recently when Disney presented their plans for the MCU.

Yet there’s probably one man who’s just as thrilled as the most diehard fans: Kevin Feige. Feige has spearheaded the MCU ever sinceIron Man back in 2008, and in a recent interview withEmmy Magazine, he expressed just what streaming means for the MCU, calling it “100 percent the future and where consumers want to watch things,” a statement very much in tune with the industry’s current paradigm shift.
Feige specifically addressed what it’s like for the MCU to tackle the series format, claiming simply that “An experience likeWandavisionis something you can’t get in a movie.” The Marvel producer also noted that while the movie format offers something entirely different, in the end, all those movies are also destined to wind up on a streaming platform. In this case, Disney’s.
For that reason, the fact thatWandavisionandLokiare two of the firstshows that will test drive this miniseries format is ideal, since, as Feige perfectly described it, those would appear to offer an MCU experience very different from what the blockbuster movies have delivered over the years.
