The Twitter account forMarvel’s Avengers, the upcoming game from developer Crystal Dynamics and publisher Square Enix, teased what looks to be a new skin for Thor yesterday. Though this skin looks a little less mighty than theGod of Thunder’s other looks.
The tweet itself is a tease for the game’s upcoming “War Table” event that is taking place Wednesday, June 24 at 10 AM Pacific/1 PM Eastern. The gamewas delayed until September 4 for “fine-tuning and polishing” from its May 15 release date. This War Table Event will be a sort of second unveiling for the game after last year’s E3 2019 unveiling faced some criticism, particularly for itsdepictions of the Avengers themselves.

The new tweet from theMarvel’s Avengersaccount shows Thor wearing a normal looking blue T-shirt with an illustration of some Asgardian wings and the word “Volunteer” on the back. While Thor does have his beautiful blond locks and his trusty hammer, Mjolnir, the cargo pants, and normal boots he is also wearing suggests he was in the middle of something else before a call to action brought the hero to face some sort of robot tank. The Avengers A is on the background of the ship where the picture is taking place, so perhaps this is a helicarrier.
This is not the only tease that theMarvel’s AvengersTwitter account has revealed lately. Earlier this month the account also revealed what the bedroom of Kamala Khan (AKA Ms. Marvel) will look like (she is going to be one of the main playable Avengers in the game). In her room was a poster ofher idol and namesake, Captain Marvel, which marked the first time people have been able to see what Carol Danvers will look like in her costume in the game.
The next gameplay unveiling forMarvel’s Avengersis not far away now, but what specifically will be shown is unknown. Perhaps there will be further details about the microtransactions thatthe ESRB confirmed will be in the game.
