Baba what now?Civilization IVisn’t the only game witha link to Grammynominations —Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rockhas now made it into the mix. Megadeth’s track “Sudden Death”has been nominatedfor “Best Metal Performance,” alongside songs by Iron Maiden, Korn, Lamb of God, and Slayer.
You’re probably thinking “What’s the big deal? There are a lot of songs that have appeared in music games that have been nominated for and even won Grammys?” True, but here’s the difference: Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine has said that he wrote the song specifically for Neversoft’s band title, making it as wild and complicated as possible to challenge gamers.
We’ll find out if that paid off for Mustaine when the Grammy awards air on CBS this coming February 13.
