A few months ago, the Shaggy meme was taking the Internet by storm. For the uninitiated, the Shaggy meme was where Shaggy Rogers fromScooby-Doowas said to be absurdly powerful with powers incomprehensible to the human mind. A satire site then created apetition to add Shaggy toMortal Kombat11, but what started as yet another Shaggy meme joke quickly blew up, with the petition sitting at over 375,000 signatures at the time of this writing.

What made the petition to bring to Shaggy toMortal Kombat 11interesting was that Warner Bros. has both theMortal Kombatfranchise andScooby-Doounder its umbrella. So while still an extremely unlikely possibility, it gave fans hope that Shaggy inMortal Kombat 11could become a reality. However, game director Ed Boon dashed those hopes by outright saying Shaggy wouldn’t be in the game, but that hasn’t stopped him from teasingMortal Kombat 11fans on Twitter about it.

In a recent tweet, Ed Boon responded to a photo sent to him by YouTube personality Boogie2988 of a Shaggy cosplayer, where Boogie asked Boon if Shaggy could be inMortal Kombat. Boon responded, “Oh wow, that’s an idea. Maybe we should consider and discuss this? Do people want this? Hmmmm?”

Boon is clearly joking about considering Shaggy forMortal Kombat 11DLC, but if fan demand is loud enough, maybe we will see Shaggy come to a fighting game in some capacity. In fact, Shaggy may actually be a better fit for a newInjusticegame, as Shaggy and the rest of theScooby-Doocast have appeared in various crossover cartoon films and TV shows with DC Comics characters (most notably Batman and Robin). It seems as though if Shaggy was to come to any NetherRealm Studios fighter, it would beInjustice.

Even that’s a long shot, butMortal Kombat 11fans still have plenty of DLC guest fighters to look forward to in the coming months. Datamining efforts have suggested that The Joker, Spawn, The Terminator, and more are all on the way asMortal Kombat 11DLC fighters, though none of them have been officially announced at this time.

Mortal Kombat 11is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
