Mortal Kombat 11: Where is Takeda?

It’s no secret thatMortal Kombat 11is missing some fan-favorite characters like Mileena and Reptile, but the game is also missing some newer characters as well. For example, inMortal Kombat X, we met Kenshi’s son Takeda Takahashi, also known as Scorpion’s apprentice. However, Takeda is not part of theMortal Kombat 11roster, and is nowhere to be found in the story mode, despite its huge stakes.

Unlike Reptile, it doesn’t appear as though Takeda is hiding inMortal Kombat 11’s Krypteither. Even so, Takeda does have some cameos in the new game. Takeda makes some background appearances in various Tower endings, so anyMortal Kombat 11players who want to see Takeda will need to beat the Towers for various characters.

Some in-game dialogue also reveals a bit about what Takeda is up to during the events ofMortal Kombat 11. If players pit Jacqui Briggs against Scorpion, it is revealed that Jacqui and Takeda have gotten engaged since the events ofMortal Kombat X. Outside of this dialogue and the cameos in the Tower endings, though, Takeda doesn’t appear inMortal Kombat 11in any major capacity.

That doesn’t mean Takeda can’t come toMortal Kombat 11at some point down the line. After all,Mortal Kombat 11will have DLC fighters to expand its roster, and so far, only one DLC character has been confirmed. We know thatShang Tsung is coming toMortal Kombat 11as a playable fighter, and leaks have pointed to the game having at least 19 DLC characters before NetherRealm is done making new content for it.

It’s quite possible Takeda could be part of theMortal Kombat 11DLC characters, especially if there is enough fan demand to see him in the game. In the meantime, leaks have suggested that other DLC fighters will include Nightwolf, Sindel, Fujin, and Sheeva along with guest characters, but we still don’t know who most of theMortal Kombat 11DLC fighters will be.

It’s unclear exactly when NetherRealm plans on officially revealing anyMortal Kombat 11DLC fighters, but perhaps we’ll get an announcement or two at E3 in June.
