A trademark filed by Nintendo could reveal plans for the next Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games to be added to theNintendo Switch Onlinegame library. The addition of classic Game Boy games to theNintendo Switch Onlinesubscription has been warmly received. However, Nintendo’s only gone so far as to add a handful of Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games. There’s a demand for even more Game Boy games in the future, and Nintendo may be following through on that before long.
Before the addition of the currently available Game Boy games on Nintendo Switch Online, Nintendo refreshed the trademarks for a number of games. That list includesKirby’s Tilt ‘N Tumble, as well asupcoming Nintendo Switch Online releasesThe Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages,The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, andFire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. It has proven to be an accurate, if not reliable, way of seeing what games Nintendo plans to release next.

Now two additional trademarks have been filed for Game Boy game titles, each yet to have been announced as future Nintendo Switch Online offerings. The filings were both issued in mid-February, but have only been published since. The two games areSolar Striker, a NintendoGradius-like vertical scrolling shooterthat was originally released in 1990, andFire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, a tactical RPG.
Neither of these games have been officially announced as planned for Nintendo Switch Online, but if their trademarks are to be believed they could arrive down the line. They’re notably bothhighly requested additions to Nintendo Switch Onlineamong fans, making them likely future additions even before the trademarks were confirmed. Nothing’s confirmed until Nintendo makes an official announcement, however.
