The release ofKingdom Hearts 3is a day that many gamers may have thought would never come, but a recent gameplay video shows an interesting hands-on experience that may excite even those skeptic of it releasing this year. It’s worth mentioning that leaked images released a couple of days ago seemingly revealed aWreck-It Ralph summon, and this new gameplay confirms theFix-It Felix Jr.character’s role in this upcoming action role-playing game.
While the video (depicted below) focuses heavily on the in-game world ofToy Story,it begins with an encounter with the Titan fromHerculesbefore Sora, Donald, and Goofy find themselves in Andy’s room. With Buzz Lightyear and Woody in tow, Sora heads toward Galaxy Toys where he finds rideable mechs. ThisKingdom Hearts 3gameplay does an intriguing job of showcasing locations, but it also features some of Sora’s unique abilities.
Other than the rideable mechs of Galaxy Toys and the Wreck-It Ralph summon, the video also displays some of Sora’s keyblade transformations and abilities, namely the Drill Punch, Mirage Staff, and theMonster’s Inc.-inspired Twin Yo-Yos. Regardless of which ability gamers find the most interesting, there’s a wide variety displayed, so it seems likely there’s a little something for everyone. Check out the video below:
Of course, after seeing this video, many gamers may be asking when the game is set to release. According to a recent leak from Target, it appearsKingdom Hearts 3could release on July 19, 2025, but since there has been no official confirmation from Square Enix, this news should be taken with a major grain of salt.
Currently, it’s unknown when Square Enix may have an official announcement, but it’s worth noting that the Japanese publisher will be hosting aspecial video press conference during E3next month. The company hasn’t had a real presence at E3 in a few years, so here’s hoping that this conference has something to do with the highly anticipatedKingdom Hearts 3.
Kingdom Hearts 3is set to release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
