Dick Grayson’sNightwingis getting a radical new redesign - including a bold new logo - as DC reinvents Batman’s first Robin. When it comes to new costumes, Nightwing seldom gets much more than a new color scheme. However, this time DC is shooting for the stars with a jaw-dropping reinvention of the Blüdhaven hero.

This August,DC is launchingImmortal Legend Batman- a new series set in an alternate reality. The story sees humanity break through to a supernatural shadow realm that’s set on destroying the planet. Thankfully, Bruce Wayne finds a way to harness the energy pouring out, turning his family into Power Rangers-esque warriors who can push back the darkness. Wearing an armored suit infused with this dark energy,Dick Grayson will become Immortal Legend Nightwing.

The miniseries is written by Kyle Higgins and Mat Groom, drawn by Erica D’Urso, colored by Igor Monti and lettered by Becca Carey. The new costume designs come from Dan Mora, who is also providing cover art for the series. Nightwing’s new design gives him an armored suit and helmet with pronounced shoulders and vicious arm spikes. He also receives a new blue and yellow logo in a bird-wing design.

Dick Grayson Is Seemingly a Celebrity in This New Reality

In previews revealed as part of San Diego Comic-Con, fans can see Batman unite with Immortal Legend Nightwing and Immortal Legend Robin, with art suggesting that Dick Grayson will also have a civilian identity as a celebrity racer. This isn’t a job the character has had before in DC lore, but suits the born showman who is famous (and beloved by fans) for leaping before he looks, then coming up with a plan before he hits the ground.

Writer Kyle Higgins previously worked on Boom Studios’Mighty Morphin Power Rangersand hiscreator-owned bestsellerRadiant Black, showing an immense love for the tokusatsu super team genre. Now, that love is coming to Gotham City, with Batman, Nightwing and Robin seemingly enhancing their strength, agility and stamina with the new suits. Serg Acuña’s variant cover for issue #2 brings the family together, seemingly homaging his 2022 cover forNightwing #97.

Until then, fans can look forward to a whole new look forNightwing, as the devil-may-care hero enters a new reality where he’ll be sporting his most creative redesign yet.
