Drag X Drive Release Date Has Been Revealed
It’s Less Than Two Months Away
Drag x Driveis a team-based multiplayer basketball-like game. Matches are 3v3. The major difference between the title and other basketball games (or even other sports games) is thatplayers use the mouse functionality of the Joy-Con 2 controllers to move their character, as if they are actually controlling a wheelchair. Other than the brief demonstrations at Switch 2 preview events and now the release date, there hasn’t been a lot of information revealed about the game.
Some users may feel like the title is a tech demo of the Switch 2’s mouse controls, because, as of right now, there is barely any support for the console’s newest feature. TheSwitch 2 has some downsides, despite having a strong release, but with so few games making use of the mouse functionality currently,Drag x Drivemay be the game some fans are waiting for to see how well the mouse controls truly work. But without a price tag, the release date may bring more anxiety about the title than anything else during a time in which every game’s price tag and “value” are seemingly examined with a microscope.
Dragon X Drive Looks Fun, But Is An eShop Release With No Physical
Another Blow To Physical Game Preservation
Thecontroversial use of Game-Key Cardsinstead of traditional physical media, as well as the Switch 2 launch bundle including a digital copy ofMario Kart Worldinstead of a physical game, hasbrought the topic of game preservation to the forefront. Some fans enjoy digital games for their ease of access, while others enjoy feeling like they own the product they paid for by buying physical games. There are several arguments for and against both digital and physical games, but withDrag x Drivebeing digital-only, that certainly is going to rub some potential customers the wrong way.
Still,Drag x Drivelooks like a fun game, and now that a release date is set, we will hopefully get pricing details soon. We don’t know a lot about the game yet, but with thecontroversialNintendo Switch 2: Welcome Tourbeing, essentially, a tech demo for theNintendo Switch 2, some fans are probably questioning ifDrag x Driveis a “full game experience” or if it is designed to show off the new mouse controls. We’ll find out on August 14.
